It is my privilege and honour to be one of the judges to this competition. I hope I am not speaking out of turn when I say, having seen the work of the citizens of Grimney, I am certain that the poems that will be posted here will be of high quality, and will span the whole spectrum of emotions and facets that this season represents.

I offer all competitors my very best wishes and assure you that I will be as fair as bribery permits (little joke there!). Seriously now, I am sure I will enjoy your poems as much as you (hopefully) will enjoy writing them.

Why not use this competition as an opportunity to invite your friends to join our community and enter?

Christmas Message

‘Happy Chrsitmas little one’
Said the father to his son.
At this joyous time of year,
We must not forget
What is most dear,
A child,
A brother,
Daughter, mother,
That is what gives Christmas meaning,
Not the tree
All tall and gleaming,
Or the presents tied with lace,
It’s the love we see
On a loved one’s face.
