Was it really that long ago that you had died,
Your family stood there, of course they cried,
Tears for a woman taken away,
The judgement was made to not let you stay.

So now you are here and stand at my shoulder,
No pain on your face not a single day older,
Angel of mercy or angel of woe,
Your face never changes to ever let me know.

did you show me your scars of one terrible night,
the Angel of Mons and the bringing of light,
you lost your souls, they died before your eyes,
so many men and boys, such terrible cries.

You have cried I know but not then for me,
A life, a child you wanted to see,
We take for granted your eternity of pain,
Wings you were given, you carry the strain

They weigh heavy on you, an eternity of care,
A guardian angel, the heartache you bear,
No sleep for the wicked, nor for the good.
If I could let you sleep you know that I would

Good poem Chayowl, is that something to do with World War I?

There's a lot of food for thought in that poem Chayowl, good stuff!
:D

The Angel of Mons is a WW1 legend of a shining light in angels form appearing over the battlefield. The rest is just I would say, asking how did that Angel get from her death to me now.
Thank you very much for the comments, it means a lot.
