Scratch that - Paul Haggis. I'll say it loud, and I'll say it proud - I bloomin' loved Crash. Brilliantly constructed and executed bit of cinematography that, I felt.

By the way, talking of screenwriting - any Celtx members in here?

I shan't link to it in case it breaches the advertising rules (though it is freeware) - if you like screenwriting it's a brilliant community forum, and free software that pretty much rivals Final Draft.

Also, if you Google 'Celtx Seeds' they're giving away up to $2,000 on fledgling film projects at the moment - think there's a couple of weeks left to get an application in. Make that idea a reality!
