Nicely written, you make babies seem lovely......

Nope, not falling for it, they make the back of my eyeballs itch 8-)

Babies are lovely. But...then...they start having thoughts and opinions of their own. Then...they know more than we do. Then...they can't work out why we make life look so difficult. Then...they go off and leave us to live life properly - surely, we are doing something wrong. Then...they realize life isn't really as easy as they first thought. Then...they come back and can't work out why they can't have their old room back, so they can sit and play computer games all day while we feed them (for nothing)...like they used to...when life seemed so much simpler. Then, they............. Dear oh dear. Elvira, you're right!

Incidentally, if anyone would like the answers to anything at all...seriously...ANYTHING...I have two daughters, here with me right now, who have all the answers. It's a wonder I manage by myself at all while they're at school!! How can they even think about leaving me alone with all the dangerous stuff there is in this house!!!?? Mind you...there is the...um...'eating people' problem. I don't like to think of it as cannibalism. It's more of a bad habit. :-/

Never take your eyes off them for a second Tanza, look away for a minute and it's all over!

Hey SharonH,
Glad my poems are to your liking, thanks!
It's really just a case of letting the words show you their rhythm and the shapes they want to be in. I do a rhyme a day for my website, and it's really good training. Sometimes a word I've heard, or a phrase, or something someone said will be the starting point. Sometimes it's just a feeling! The poem I'm posting above started when I saw the phrase 'peace does not visit the guilty mind' on a website somewhere.
All it takes is the intention :D

Nemo Malus Felix - Peace does not visit the guilty mind

They said Nemo Malus Felix,
And I swear to God it's true.
Escpecially when I think of
All those things
You made me do.

I can't sleep for more than an hour,
Before those nightmares start.
'Fore every wicked thing
I've done
Is nailed into my heart.

If only I'd told you I wouldn't,
But my lust had sealed my fate.
I was desperate to feel you inside me.
Strange
That now I only hate.

I know that I shouldn't have killed her
You were evil to tease me that night
And to laugh as her blood flowed around me
You're a devil,
In that she was right.

I know peace does not visit the guilty mind
Every day is a dantean curse.
But to know you still lived in the same world as me..........
That, my love,
Would be worse.

There was a young man named Fred
Who went out and bought a foam bed
When he got home
He lay on the foam
And a spring shot straight through his head.

God said to Moses
All men shall have round noses
Except old Aaron
He''ll have a square un. :?

I own a human he’s my pet
He’s worshiped me since first we met
My human pet is old and bald
But always comes when he is called
I’ve got him trained around the house
But he simply cannot catch a mouse
His cooking skills are pretty poor
He serves my food upon the floor
He picks me up and puts me down!
He makes me wear a lead in town!
I’m not a dog for goodness sake!
I am a cat when I’m awake
Because I tend to sleep all day
Upon his lap I like to lay
Although he lacks soft shiny fur
And I’ve yet to teach him how to purr
I enjoy it when he strokes my chin
So that is why I humour him.

Cool. :D
I've long thought that the pets own us and not the other way around.
