Yes, you would stand back and do nothing while Darl beats me and forces himself on me because nothing else will keep her safe. I understand love and jealousy, what I don't understand is why Hawk thinks that he has any justification for cold blooded murder. If Darl had reason to believe Vortigern was a rival, then I would think a man of his skill and honour would fight Vortigern himself.
*She looks angrily at Hawk*
Rash and unjustified. Vortigern and I did nothing but talk. You must remember that he is my bodyguard and confidant. We went to the island to speak alone because he had some concerns about returning to Stormrock that he wished to convey privately. We had quite a disagreement and I do not know if he intends to return, but he had the decency not to cause a fuss in front of you soldiers as he knew it would embarrass me.
*Her beautiful eyes fix on Hawk's and she moves closer to him*
Perhaps your mind leapt to a more scandalous conclusion because you are projecting your desires on his actions? You are imagining things that you want to do yourself.
