The cave is short of mice, imagine how Rawke feels. Just think how good you'll feel if Seth Kestrig and his gangsters are arrested and executed....

Who.. who will they be fighting? Who will arrest them? They have been allowed to get away with worse murders than mine. Why is my death any different? They are protected by the militia and Grimwood Scribes. He is hardly going to mourn the death of a mermaid.

Wouldn't it have been easier to murder me and pin the blame on them.

It's a simple plan Philomena. A rider is being sent to the tavern, a witness to your murder by the Chaos Engine.... Once Carados, your father knows that you're dead, he'll turn on them and attack the Blue Dragon.... Scribes and the Militia will react violently and one will wipe out the other, then you can be released into a more peaceful land.
*He shakes his head and smiles, he lifts the bird from his shoulder and places him upon Philomena's wrist*
He's a good friend, and he'll watch over you.

Your father is a very violent creature and he'll burn the Blue Dragon to the ground.... Seth Kestrig will turn to the Militia, and the High Council will reveal its true colours, for many of them have gotten rich through the Chaos Engine's crimes.
*He nods slowly*.
Peace in Grimney will only come through slaughter and death and the rotten core must be torn out.....
*He looks into the shadows*.
I must patrol the tunnels, we don't want any unwelcome visitors discovering us here.
*He draws a large sword and walks away into the darkness*.

I'd heard that you drowned the Kanaran navy, waged your own war to save Kalvos. You need to pick a side Philomena. War is coming to this land and if the Chaos Engine is shattered, the Militia will shatter too, Scribes will be weakened and the High Council will split.
*He nods grimly*.
I'm sick of fighting and killing, but Carados will get the job done quickly.

What happens afterwards? Once the war is over and peace restored? Am I to be spirited away to the sea or magically reappear as if reincarnated? What of the Queen? How will you keep her safe? Oh no this is all wrong. I cannot be a part of this.
