*The guards mount up and ride away behind Carados leaving a stunned Philomena behind.

Fight and kill for love? That is why Elite Knights are not meant to marry. They think everything can be conquered with a sword. That defenceless old man is one of the biggest traitors in Grimney, involved in everything dark and corrupt. If he had been let free he would have hunted down the Princess and done worse to her than he did this time. Carados was protecting her.

Your father just wants the best for you. A Princess deserves a prince not a peasant. Everyone knows that.

You really don't know what is happening, do you knight? Addle worked for a corrupt member of the High Council who we only know as The Lord. They kidnapped the Princess in order to force her to marry him, once married to the Princess of the Blood, The Lord planned to set a revolution against the Crown, to seize the throne by virtue of Princess Philomena's royal blood. The Queen's Elite is too busy fighting itself to see the danger to the Queen.
