We noticed two horses in the stable. They are marked with the Militia brand. Two interlocking blood red horns. We wondered how hey came to be there.
*She drinks her ale slowly and stares at the mermaid*.

They are Lorcan Faybre's, he asked me to take care of them for him. They have had wooden tongue and he knows I am good at treating horses with potions and prayers. They have recovered well, although the bay horse is still lame in her left forelock from that rusty nail. Perhaps when you see him next you can tell him they are ready for collection.
Another ale, sir.... of course. Whatever you want.

I don't know who the horses belong to, only that he asked me to tend them. I can hardly question a Captain of the Militia, can I? He asks, and I do it.

He only ever comes on business. This is the only tavern in the mire, and he is stationed in the mire. It is dangerous to cross the mire at night with neathlin and vampires roaming, not to mention vicious outlaws!

Maybe that was the last outbreak in Toraz but it is endemic in the mire. All the swamp flies, they spread it from horse to horse. Poor things. You really should give your steeds a does of Hime's Elixir weekly to prevent it. Do you want some? We stock it.
