I perhaps can think of gentler ways to keep things from getting out of hand. A little song maybe? Let us see what they want first, perhaps they merely want to know more about the attack on the mire. Don't ban Vance, please Urat, I'm sure he does not mean to put us at risk.

We shall stand with you no matter what. Now a drink please, the strongest you have.

I agree Philomena, whatever happens we must avoid bloodshed. A song might help, but Gideon Drake's Knights often block their ears, they are wise to such things, and know how to defend against words of sorcery.

No, I won't ban Vance, he is short of places to go, and if I can't give him shelter he would be truly lost. It's good that you care.

Yes...They may indeed be investigating the assault, but the Red Hand are generally not called upon unless there is a need to spill blood. We shall see. :roll:

Look... The twin suns are going down. It's a beautiful sky tonight. I love a good sunset, that glowing red light rolling against the green, Grimney is a wonderful land when you see it naturally. Yes, by goodness... It's quite beautiful. Let's all have a drink, hey? And worry not... :)

I could just wear my skimpiest dress, that might be a distraction? Yes, I do have one skimpier than this :lol: Maybe we should all sing Don1's beautiful Grimney anthem and fill our hearts with a little courage. Yes,
another drink. I hope the fairies will return and fill our hearts with joy with their flittering dances.

The sky is indeed beautiful. Almost as beautiful as in the deep of the sea. Ah the purple depths, cool as a death and calm even when the storm rages above. At its deepest stands the crystal city of Serissia, a hundred gleaming palaces where we sit on pearl and silver thrones to comb our hair. Shall I swim in those waters again Urat?

Hmm, any skimpier my dear lady and you’d be naked. You’re disracting enough as it is!

Don1’s anthem is indeed rousing! We could do with him here to sing with us! Elvira, Nydas, and Tanza would also be very useful too.

Courage! Ah yes, often found at the bottom of an ale glass.

Waiting for their arrival is somewhat daunting. However, wait we must. I’m not sure a bar filled with fluttering fairies would go down well with Gideon and his soldiers.

Serissia? I’ve never heard of such a place. Sounds astonishing, I would love to hear more about that! A crystal city, sounds most splendid, with all that combing and grooming how did you mermaids find time to build it? You will swim there again, and in time I’m sure you’ll find your father. Still no sign of Silas though! :|

I don’t think they will attack us, Gideon is not a barbarian, he is a civilised and cultured man, but he will follows orders without question. I fought along side him many moons ago, he’s brave and not without feeling. We shall see, more wine for all. :D

I wonder how well skimpily dress mermaid in your bar will go down with Gideon? Is he another who despises all races? Am I going to have to wear shoes again? I hate shoes.

Serissia has been there for a millennia. Legend has it that the merfolk who founded it, used their voices to sing it into creation. It is no wonder you have heard of it, for no human who has visited it can return to land. It is the price they pay and few are prepared to pay it. It is beautiful, every palace a slightly different shade of blue and as the filters sunlight reaches down, every one of them gleams. Forests of red and golden seaweed surround its borders and emerald fish swims in shoals between the weeds. At night the diamond fish emerge and shine like stars. There is no money exchanged, no trade, and thus no wars. I would live there forever if it didn't mean marrying a merman!

Well now that I've got my breath back, I think a rousing chorus of the Grimney anthem is just the thing to lift out spirits. Philomena if you can resolve matters with a skimpy dress and a song, then I'm all for that, I'll even make the skimpy dress!!!

That’s all very beautiful. I can fully understand your dislike of mermen, they should all be drowned. As for my hatred of other races, I do that only when I’m ordered.

Skimpy dresses? Attractive to you maybe... I prefer starched shirts and armour, that is what I'm used to.

No singing please. I dislike bawdy tavern music. I also dislike being made to ride through your stinking swamp.

We’re here on official business, and I have some accusations to put forward, it's regarding Urat Holme’s rumoured fratinisation with known and notorious felons.

It’s not surprising men and woman are attacked in this disgusting mire, if your tavern chooses to serve murderers, thugs, robbers, and other low life scum.

I could simply order my knights to burn down this tavern, all it takes is a flick of my fingers. But I’m a reasonable man, so I’ll simply issue a warning. I need not explain the warning to you, I won’t waste my breath or your time.

If any of you have any questions, now is the time to ask. Otherwise I’ll take my leave and return to the Citadel, I shall be leaving a soldier behind, after all he can make sure you are not entertaining the company of villains.

I cannot prevent the visits of criminals and outlaws, and by the time we can contact you, when you're halfway across Grimney, they're long gone. I'm a simple tavern owner, living in a swamp, I pose no threat to you, or the Government and you know me as a decent businessman, I've fought enough, and no more. Burning down the tavern will simply scatter us, and create resentment. You're an educated man Gideon, you know that would be unwise. Would you and your men like a drink? You must be thirsty having travelled so far. :|

Good point, you could always talk a good fight. I will not order your destruction this night. Eager though my knights maybe. They're battle hungry, they always are.

In any case I think we'll stay at your tavern tonight, it's very dark out there now, and riding back through the swamp might prove fatal. No burning for now... The tavern will stand a little longer yet, after all it would be an inconvenience to us.

I'd like you to feed our horses, they'll need water too, and a flagon of wine for my men. I shall have a schooner of amber sherry. We'll take our seats in the back room, the redhead and the skimpily dressed girl can serve us. Let's go men.

Gwenllian and Philomena? If they don't mind that is... May have to settle for Sweeney Green my privy cleaner, he is quite happy to serve... Fortunately they did not hear that. :roll: Hmm, I suppose that went rather well, fortunate that certain individuals are away from the tavern tonight.

I might call last orders I think... This has gone on long enough, and I don't want any visitors that might upset the apple cart rolling in beyond the witching hour! ;)
