I must leave you for a few days. The King has summoned me on a mission, but I should be back Saturday afternoon/evening. In the meantime, Squowzer, my lodger, will provide hospitality for any callers. He is a mighty being, but do not fear, for he, to, is a servant of the King.

Hard to get to the bar this day. I can see you are busy barkeep. So no need for a drink. I'm looking for Josh Zevin, and an elf named Debra Cobra. Do you know their whereabouts?

Sorry sir, I don’t know their whereabouts. I think you might be better off to ask around. I really cannot help you. :?

Waycyber, you will be missed. Where is Squowzer? I have never met the fellow. Ah the King, I’ve heard that ill health has befallen him. Do take care on your journey. Perhaps hire an outlander to act as a bodyguard?

Tanza...Yes, can I get you a drink?

Oh indeed I do love my comb! :D

Mrs West, now, I know little of her but she did call in, I really don’t know what to make of her. She is very polite, but I know she was talking with Devlin Tryst and Nero Karn the other night, and I know Tryst is not too fond of you after the night you spent with him.

Oh yes I do remember that! My second childhood. :o I spent much of the night asleep after that, I was sucking my thumb for a month. It’s lucky that I have a good nature, and thank the Zoriat that I have a sense of humour, it's vital in this day an age.

Perhaps bandages would be more apt? Rather than a new frock?! Your back looks a little sore! Ask Wayland about that too, or Witch maybe? As for you being a whore, I am sure you are not.

Oh have you seen Hogstance lately? He’s not been in for a while. Do hope the authorities have not caught up with him.

Yes, the soldier in question has got into trouble due to you sitting on his helmet. I think you should buy him a new one. Anyway, happy shopping Tanza. :D

Oh Urat, how wonderful your beard looks. I am so pleased you like the comb and you are obviously putting it to good use. Wish I could have seen you as a seven year old, who knows maybe Elvira will cast it again.

I noticed that the storm last night has knocked some of your tiles up so I've asked one of my gentlemen friends to repair it for you. He's up there now and I promised him I'd let him by me a drink once he's finished. Such a kind person.

I've found my sailor, an old friend of mine Silas Shantee. He's as tough as old boots and can hold his naba rum enough to keep his wits about him. I wonder if I should hire a second sailor to watch his back.

Poor Tanza, hope you find something to give you a little relief. I do have some lovely blood red nail varnish on me you might like, I always find a little manicure cheers me up.

Silas Shantee, that old salt! He's still alive?! I thought he went down on the Gideon some time back. Well, I'll be blown over by the Northern wind, would you ever!

My beard is indeed looking grand. I spent a goodly time combing it last night, my broth was full of whiskers. :o

Oh yes, that old memory... I was indeed quite a sight, between you and me, being seven again was a joy, and it took me right back... Right back, to when I was seven... Those were the days.... I think I lost a fair bit of business that night. I know Darius Kane took advantage.

Why thank you. Sweeney Green and I have been using buckets this day, as the holes were quite severe. I shall give him a free one when he comes in. As for Silas, I'll lay on a couple of glasses of naba rum, on the house of course. ;)

Yes Tanza should see a doctor, or a vet.....

My nails, with varnish on?! Is that your suggestion? A man can go too far! Looks good on you, but the patrons would laugh their swords off if I should wear such a thing! :D

I meant Tanza for the nail varnish, not you darling. Swamp green is more your colour. ;)

Old Silas is a lucky man, saved by a pair of sea turtles I believe. He is well liked by the Aquitaini clan and he has a tattoo of my mother on his back. Doubt he will ever drown.

Still no news of Willow?

Ha! I really am an oaf sometimes! I get somewhat befuddled in thought, of course, not for me at all!

Really? What an extraordinary story! Although, he is a teller of tales is he not? A very pleasant man considering the company he keeps, but tough as old boot leather. A tattoo of your mother you say? Does she look like you? I shall give your roof fixing friend a jug of whatever he chooses when he comes down. Willow, there has been reports of a death in the Chaos Engine, but still nothing clear as to where Willow is. Between you and me, I'm a bit concerned, there have been a lot of shady characters in the mire lately, mostly watching. Although who they are watching remains to be seen.

It was the sea turtles that told me that story. His is rather convoluted and involves fighting several giant squid. I do look rather like my mother, although her hair is a soft lavender colour and her eyes are silver. I have my father's colouring.

Oh no, not another death. Is there no way this can be sorted without bloodshed?

I must thank some of your patrons for their kind gifts, all manner of flowers and trinkets although who thought I would like a pair of lacy undegarments I don't know. My favourite is a charcoal portrait of me, someone has gone to a lot of effort. Did you hear about that peasant child that was drowned? I bet that was the kelpie. The sooner I find him the better.

Then you must be a beautiful family of mermaids. Well, Silas has many yarns, as far as I remember they were mostly based on some basic truth! The fact that he survived the wreck of the Gideon surprises me.

Yes, I have seen that several men have given you gifts, I've got a large silver spoon beneath the bar, although why anyone would think you would want that I don't know. Lacy underwear, well what can I say! It boggles the mind, and not good for my heart rate.

Hmmm Vance Scarab was drawing a charcoal portrait a day or two ago, I wonder if it's from him?

Oh no. A child has drowned? :o The kelpie is responsible? This must not happen.

Bloodshed may be hard to avoid, if a Chaos Engine member is dead, they'll want revenge. Nothing can be done.

Best we keep our heads down....

Don1 good to see you sir! You've been away for quite sometime! Great to hear your voice again, and with such words to inspire us! Yes, please do perform it for us, Clara will dance and Nydas will sing the chorus. Splendid! :D

Mead, oh yes, certainly for you! A jug on the house and a free round for all my favoured patrons. You have that winning smile, and charm is a better weapon than any sword, if you have charm that is!
:)
