The Land of Grimney - The Illustrated Adventures of Cora Pearl, aged 12

I hear the sound in the distance
the drumming of hooves on ground
I see seven riders approaching
and wonder where they are bound

suddenly they are upon me
their swords raised high overhead
no time to run I must stand my ground
in a moment I will be dead

I can smell the tang of the horses sweat
and am deafened with clash of steel
But as these seven ride over me
not a single thing do I feel

I snap open my eyes and look all around
but I know what I will see
the black swirling shapes of hunting wraiths
thank god this time they've not come for me

Don1 never a truer word was spoken, I am taking hours to catch up! Gwenllian, that is a great poem, Don1 is right the imagery is really captivating!
