What a trap we are in

The thing that we desire
We pursue with all our might
But our words and our actions
Drive it far from sight

What a trap we are in

The thing that we most need
Is the thing that we most fear
The door is open to set us free
Go through it, we wouldn't dare

However

When we find peace to be ourselves
To accept who we truly are
Then our desire will come to us
Travelling from afar

When fear's our adviser, not our lord
When we choose to face the beast
We may find a kitten, not a dragon
And so our fear's decreased
