Ah Cwmbran - Valley of the Crow. I know it of old!

It's a small, small world we live in!

I grew up in that very same place but moved away a good few years ago. More than half my life elsewhere.

Still have family there though.

:P

Well I don't think I have any relatives in Oxfordshire, but who knows, maybe we are sisters under the skin :D

It's all Welsh blood!

I was in Cwmbran only a few weeks back - might have crossed paths! ....of course I wasn't wearing my wings...would have been difficult to recognise.

we may have indeed, I wonder if the quote at the end of your posts means you are a theatrical type?! In which case we may well have crossed paths, because if I'm not in Grimney, I'm usually in the theatre or making costumes for it :D

That's exciting! But alas I am not theatrical in the sense of performing - publicly at least! I am far to timid for that.

I like to watch though and I like to read a little shakespeare here and there.

In another lifetime I would be far braver than I am in this.

You act Gwen? Tell more!

Quote:
'What I felt that night, and what I did, I no more expected to feel and do, than to be lifted in a trance to the Seventh Heaven. Cold, reluctant, apprehensive, I had accepted a part to please another: Ere long, warming, becoming interested, taking courage, I acted to please myself. Yet the next day, when I thought it over, I quite dissapproved of these amateur perfomances; and though glad that I had obliged M. Paul, and tried my own strength for once, I took a firm resolution never to be drawn into a similar affair. A keen relish for dramatic expression had revealed itself as part of my nature; to cherish and exercise this new found faculty might gift me with a world of delight but it would not do for a mere looker-on at life: the strength and longing must be put by; and I put them by, and fastened them in with the lock of a resolution which neither time nor temptation has since picked. [ Vilette, Charlotte Bronte]

One of my favourite pieces of writing...one of them :P ...thought it appropriate.

I do act a little, not as much now as I did, but still very involved and as I said I make costumes and sometimes work as a dresser in various pro productions. When I'm not doing any of that I do some work as a t.v extra, In other words I'm a bit of a jack of all trades, would like to be master of at least one of them :D

hello today dear Gwen!

You keep busy - it must be wonderful to be able to make costumes. A friend of mine does re-enactments of the 15th Century with her teenage boys and makes all the costumes. We work together and she quite often is sat sewing these amazing costumes!

You must tell when you are doing extra work - we can all watch and guess the Gwen!

Hope you are having a lovely day! x
