Tried to be a winner all my life, but never made it, does anyone share a similar fate, be interesting to know.
Even my local football club are the same. Not as I am complaining, I can laugh at myself, hope you enjoy the following few poetic words I have scribed. I even tried song writing before this but that seems to be a no goer. Nice talking to you all, thats if you can hear me..

Tried to be a winner

I’m the clown at all the parties.
They laugh and slap my back.
When they give the presents out.
Mine is broke or cracked
The butt of all the jokes.
They never see the tears.
Tell them how, I feel inside.
But no one really hears.

Tried to be a winner.
Never won a race.
Always find a place to trip.
Fall flat upon my face
I’m the one you never notice.
Knocking on the door,
Always drinking far too much.
Then end, upon the floor.

The loneliness, that stays with me.
From which, I cannot hide.
So unaware are people.
Of the pain, I feel inside.
Happiness, there’s none it seems.
For the one, who tries to win .
Left with just, my empty dreams.
On the outside, looking in.

Now I loved a certain lady.
And I thought, nobody knew.
Someone, told her husband.
Who had a lover too.
It caused, a lot of heart ache.
It caused, a lot off strife
Especially, when I found out.
His lover, was my wife
.

Now I met this other lady
She said her name was Sue.
She was a deep sea diver
Said I could learn it too.
I went around next morning.
Caught her still in bed.
Her wig was on the bedpost.
No hair upon her head.

I have come now for my lesson
I’ve been waiting here she said
Help me find my glass eye
And climb onto the bed
Her teeth lay on the table
A wooden leg upon the floor
She said come over here my love
So I dived out through the door

Tried to be a winner.
Never won a race.
Always find a place to trip.
Fall flat upon my face.
Invited out to dinner.
It’s me who pays the bill.
Hoping, that my luck will change.
But I know it never will.

If you had a little chuckle reading the above as a little reward have a listen to one of my songs now top of the flops

Yes, thought that was tragically funny. Cheers! Would listen to your music, but my speakers have broken, so can relate to your misfortunes quite easily! Thanks

Just listened to your song! It's great and the words would probably mean a lot to many people. I also read your poem. It was like reading about myself...except for the part where your girlfriend had a wig and a glass eye. I have to say, that's pretty unlucky and, could be considered to be a little bit made up? If it isn't , I apologize to you and your girlfriend...she probably had a great personality.

There are a lot of people who absorb riducule and insults because it's all they're used to and it's become their life and who they are. If you even dare to withdraw or disapprove of jokes aimed at you, it's like you've committed the worst crime ever! Just do what I do...go home and sit rocking in the corner for a few hours...it helps, but this is between me and you yeah?? I'm always laughing at myself and at everything else. It's when I'm quiet you want to worry! Seriously...''You're quiet''....WALLOP!! hehe.

My son's learning to sing and play the guitar at the moment. I have to say, listening to him practice every day for hours at a time, is starting to make my actual skull ache. I mentioned it to him the other day too and told him that, if he didn't give me a break, his skull might start aching too...when I smash it in...with his guitar. He laughed...thought I was joking. As I said though, your track was great - reallly well put together too and did me no harm at all...not even a hint of skullache.....result!!

Loved your song. Did you play the guitar yourself?...I'm assuming that's your voice. If it is, you have achieved something really great there. It's so wonderful to be able to sing. If you can sing, you can be completely alone and still make yourself happy (no smutty comments please).

If you have more, you will have to put the links here so I can hear them. It's nice when people take the time to be creative. It's sad to think that talent goes to waste when people just give up and think nobody wants to hear their ideas.

Great poem, sadly I followed the link and found only a message saying invalid link or deleted file. Is there somewhere else your music can be heard?
