They picked us up and soothed grazed knees,
the ran behind bikes with steadying hand.

the loaned us their broad shoulders to cry on,
Their deep wallets to "borrow" from
gave us their wisdom when we needed it
and silence when we didn't

they walked us up aisles
with proud puffed up chests
and held our tiny babies
with their large safe hands

And if yours like mine
is now sadly gone
the memories are clear
the love lingers on

So here's a heartfelt thank you
