The day of shock

The day
started with shock
friend of mine
jumped off
a tower block.

He walked up to the top
And decided to jump off
Shock has filled my day

No more discussion
Of our problems
Depression and how
It effects the two of us
No jokes or smiles
Just a shock

He let everything go
Nothing in life is worth
Getting so low
Always another way
to go.
I still remain
shocked

My best mate
Was taken away
By an aneurysm
The medical people say.
Tubes, monitors and wires
Wife, Sons, daughters
Friends, Cried.

But today back
Changing from patient
To old self.
A miracle to behold
the hands of god.

The Medical people
demanded
Tests, Psychology reports
you had a
Grade five bleed
for crying out loud.

What a change
Unbelievable springs to mind
For people Like myself
We watched
The miracle happen.

Get well
My best friend
we will play
roulette again.

My home town

She was once clean
Streets gleamed
Green valleys far between
Trees covered estates
Now modern housing
These days.

Respected once you were
Treated kindly by
One and all
Rivers meander
Your plains
Cattle grazed
Today it’s gone away.

Respect, Cleanliness
Just some words to say
But I was born
On your soil
My birthplace gone
Taken down by
Machines
Modern housing needs

I sit sometimes looking
Over you
Dreaming
how it used to be.

I was little then
So were you.
We are older
Today
Did we age well
my friend
not sure
Your green
Valleys of houses
Green turned grey

Concrete for
Play grounds
Woods now ashes
Progress or destruction?
I liked you old
when green
over came
the grey
A fine city they
say!

Not listening
To their souls

Presenters give
Viewer’s time
On air

With little care

Some have said
She should have walked
The last few miles
Not easy
When you are
Feeling tired

Athletes
Are humans
Not machines
No need to mock
those trying
please!

Look at your
Own life
We could all
Criticize
sometimes
I despise

Ideal chit chat
a critics delight
put down
don't put right.

One black dog
For his companion.

be seen
With a open mind
when you view
