Why would I be looking for Kursk? I am staying here now, it is a handy base. How are you? You look positively blooming! Can't be long now until that baby arrives?

Sir Grevil Laine is young, greedy and weak. You would dislike him. He allows Bolte and the other Militia to cause chaos, because it's an easy option. He doesn't care as long as he lines his pockets with gold tobran.

*Looks at the pregnant mermaid*.

Vortigern has a history, but a lady like you surely would not involve herself with a man like him. Last I saw of him, he was working with Slayvern Kursk. You'd best ask him if you want to find Vortigern. He's normally in when night falls.

Perhaps I shall take you up on that invitation sometime, but the mire is a militia stronghold, and I'd probably be assassinated if I ventured near.

*Looks at the ranger*.

If you are hunting Kursk, best do it away from here, the barman is against bloodshed.

Because Treya I thought you were looking for Ingmar Bain's killer and I am pretty certain that it was Kursk. Duty? I didn't know that rangers spoke of duty like they were a knight.

Kursk and I also have a history, all of it acrimonious but then he does insist on trying to kill those I love and washing the mire in bloodshed. I'm not sure he will help me. Strange him and Vort are working together, last I heard he had taken a contract out on Vortigern... maybe they have made a pact against me. After all, they have both wanted to kill Kalvos at some point.

I hope you will come someday, hopefully the militia will release their grip on the mire.

Vortigern and Kursk have reason to maintain a friendship, they've fallen in with the Chaos Engine, so they've had to make a pact.

Kalvos, who is Kalvos? I'm sure that they would not try to kill you, you are a princess, and protected. I may have to leave you. I think my friends have shown up.

*He looks across the bar to where three hooded men stand. They are dressed in black and remain motionless*.

I will visit if the time becomes safe for me to do so, but you will find that you have friends here at the Blue Dragon Princess Philomena.

I'm not tetchy Treya, but you often seem to say things that contradict each other and that makes me uneasy. You are staying at a tavern that Kursk is known to frequent, and I know you are trying to track Bain's killer. I am not a fool, despite my past affairs with men like Vortigern.

Meadow I am quite fine, I do wish you and Arabella would stop fussing. Go back to the tavern, please. I know what I am doing. When do I ever need protecting?


The Chaos Engine... oh Vort! Why does he do such things? He'll end up killed. Kalvos is a knight of the Queen's Elite, like Keeler.
