Korben and I made peace a while back...or at least we agreed to disagree. My friend, I'm not harbouring a fear of Bolt. Leggy's courage in the face of certain death taught me to live for the moment. He knew what was coming for years but he never let on to any of you. Truth is, Leggy also taught me that it was better to live peacefully than to live life of conflict. Having said that, if Bolt wants a fight so badly, that's exactly what he'll get...it's a love of life that I have, not a fear of death. I have too much living to do, Urat.

Thanks for the flagon but I can't let you clear my tab, friend. You've a business to run and times are hard in Grimney. Please, take this...I'll have another flagon for the wife as well.

Well, OK Hoggy, but have another flagon on the house, I long to see a few smiles in here tonight, even if your teeth make you look ferocious when you smile.

Korben is not so bad, he’s just part of the old land, and was simply on the wrong side, the side that lost. You and Korben have a common bond, you are both enemies of the establishment, although you are judged more for simply being an ogre.

Yes, Bolt, I’m sure you could handle him, but I cannot take sides, as you say I’ve a business to run. Although I doubt he’ll pick on you personally, Bolt he will probably send a raider to challenge you.

As for Leggy, he was a wise gnome. It’s sad that the good sometimes die young, but we’re all the stronger in thought for knowing him. Just hope that we get our Willow back. I think she’ll be missed. Perhaps you could be a bodyguard? You’re big enough my friend! :D

Urat! Oh hello Hoggy, must say you're looking a lot fatter. Willow is missing! Did you find her in the mire and eat her too? ;)

That young lady who visited yesterday... :o I rather like mermaids. I was wondering where that lovely young mermaid was? Saw her earlier Urat, but she never came to the bar, I would have approached but I had a winning hand.

I was going to buy her a glass of wine. She did indeed have such lovely hair, it was indeed very shiny. Oh, I'll have two more glasses of grimati wine if you don't mind old man... On second thoughts make it a bottle, just in case she shows up late.

I wonder if she likes to play cards? Still, she might need a gentleman like me to show her around. I'm happy to help her find her lost father, I like a noble quest and to help a fair maiden in distress!

Oh, the wine? Just stick it on my tab. I'm on a winning streak tonight, I'll be able to pay you tomorrow if my luck holds. Thanks old man!

I slipped away from all the commotion. I am not used to raised voices and I became rather afraid. I will gladly accept a small glass and maybe I will sing a little in return, although be warned mermaid song can have strange effects on men's minds. We have songs that draw you near, songs that can make you forget your own name, even songs that will make you go to the depths of the sea just to hear a note more. Our songs are the only thing in existance that is more beautiful than our hair and you see how gorgeous my flowing locks are. But enough of my beauty!

Does anyone know of my father? Alas, I do not know his name but I know a fragment of his story. About five and twenty years ago my mother was sleeping in the moonlight on a rocky outcrop by the whitest cliffs when she heard a man cry out 'Treason! I shall be avenged on you cowards," followed by a loud splash. Being of a curious nature, she dived after the cause of the splash. It was a bleeding man, with his hands bound behind him. Now it is not usually our way to save a drowning man but my mother decided that Death could wait for a different quarry, this man was hers. She took him far away to an island no ship could reach due to the Wrecker rocks surrounding it. There she nursed him back to health with Mermagic and healing songs. He was quiet and handsome and had beautiful hair for a human. Although he loved her, he wanted to return to his land and avenge himself against those who had try to steal his rightful inheritance. My mother agreed to help him get to the mainland and he promised to return to her when he could but he has not returned. Each year on the same day that she rescued him, she returns and sings a song so mournful that any creature who hears it longs to cast themselves off the cliffs above. So that is my tale and all I know of my father. If any of you could help me, I'd be so grateful! Angry voices aside, you all seem such charming, kind creatures. Now where did I put my comb?

Darius Kane left some hours ago, he was looking for you, I think you've already enchanted him. Although I doubt that he can help you much. We are mostly a good crowd here, but in any land you’ll find a bad element I’m sorry to say, but nothing to fear, much of the time it’s just hot air, although we have lost our Willow.

That’s an interesting tale Philomena, and very romantic, I might be old, bald, and the wrong side of middle age, but I always have time for romance. I’m just sorry that it’s all tinged with tragedy.

I remember some years back, a man who talked of being saved by a mermaid. He had a white beard and the saddest eyes, and he was perhaps older than his years. I know he left for the Mountains of the Moon, in the company of some rather tough looking individuals. I felt that he was a hunter of some kind, after that I have no knowledge of his whereabouts. Lost in the mists of time. Hmm, look at me I’m becoming poetic. It must be the influence of the patrons.

Willow, she was snatched Gwenllian, whilst walking home through Uther's Woad, the Grimney police are investigating. I do hope she is found and safe and sound. Dark days indeed. She could have stayed, but chose to cross through the mire in the dark. Best not to be out and about in Grimney beyond the witching hour! :o

Mr Rainmaker, yes! Certainly sir! Three glasses of grimati wine, it is chilleed to perfection, and that will be three silver tobran if you don't mind. How goes your day? Still seeing black swans and talking philosophy?
:D

Oh, my toes, these shoes are too big, I’ve bought a new hat. Got any sausages? I like sausages. Those pesky grindals, stole my marmalade, what can I have on toast now? Oh dear. I’ll have to blow my nose. Teapot? Who said something about my teapot?! The spouts broken. Treason! Treason! I don’t even believe in mermaids. It’s too hot to live in a shell. What’s that smell? Oh dear that bell is ringing again! Abandon ship! Abandon ship! Fish pie for tea. I don’t even like fish pie...

Good day Hengis! You're looking well. Right must go down into the cellar and tap a few barrels. Then off to market day in Toraz to fetch fresh radigans! It's a busy day ahead. I'll keep my eyes open for Willow. Free bar while I'm away, don't drink too much, as I'll get Tanza and Hogstance to bounce you from the tavern. If anyone wants to step in and run the bar, that'd be a help! Rainmaker? Right must dash, need to get to Toraz and it's quite a journey! :D
