Should we take him back with us anyway? Looks like he finished the champagne. I don't want him missing my party or - I will be sat in the back crying while everyone else is enjoying it!

*Philomena dives into the deepest part of the falls, her tail gleaming bright in the moonlight. The kelpie enters the water but keeps two red eyes above the surface, standing guard. Philomena's song is heard beneath the water.*

I had to follow, I went to the Cabal first, but some kind of barrier blocked me and all I could hear was chanting. I don't want to lose you. I know you're immortal, but you could still be injured.
As for swimming, I'm a land man, I've never really been very good in water. I tend to sink.
But you my angel. Where would I be without you?
*He kisses Philomena and lies back down and goes to sleep*.

I have been watching the tavern in my mirror. Keeler seems to be on the brink of madness, he is dangerous. He'll never let us go, even if you get an honourable discharge he will still regard it as a perversion of your vows and will take the law into his own hands. What are we to do, my beloved? We could run but I don't want to abandon our friends. Who would protect them if I was not there? Keeler must be stopped... But how? I just hope that Meadow hasn't told him about my... delicate condition, she can be so careless with what she says and Keeler is bound to see it as your corruption.
*Philomena bites her lip and looks anxious.*

Keeler was always dangerous Philomena. We just have to take care. We should never run. We should never do that. Keeler is driven by his faith, I'm sure that will control him. You mustn't worry. Not in your condition.
*He sits up and places his arm around the mermaid's shoulder*.
I do know, I guessed, and I'm very happy. We must be very careful angel. This is all new to me, but but two Philomena's are better than one.
*He kisses Philomena's cheek*.
If she is a girl, that is.... If we have a boy, they'll never live the life in Grimney I have lived. That won't happen. They will never have the need to pick up a sword. Neither of us would want that. Would we?

No my love, they will never have the life you had. They will always have a family, either here or in the Dudrassa and there will be no need for any of our children to be warriors. I must return briefly to the sea to have her, I cannot bear the thought of giving birth on land. I went to the Cabal to see Menippe, to ask her to cast her runes. We're having a daughter.
*Philomena smiles at the knight.*
I should have told you sooner but I wanted to be sure the child wasn't Vortigern's. Because... you did replace him in my bed rather quickly and there was a chance... but Menippe is never wrong about such things. Anyway, I am pleased you are pleased. If Keeler finds out, I can always lie and say it isn't yours. The most important thing is that you stay safe, I need you more than ever.
So what do we do now? Return to the tavern? Pray Keeler does not suspect us?
