Feel much better after writing this, although it isn't fantasy and I usually write short stories thought I'd share. What the hell, eh?

Late night maudlin and all that.
Goodbye GrandadHe watches her now from way back THEN
And this is what I see,
The physical strength of “At least 2 men”
And the drinking strength of 3.
All she hears is the booming voice
No matter what he says
All she sees is a lack of choice
And abiding by his ways.
Her Dad is small, but quick and smart,
While Grandad’s loud and wide.
She doesn’t care for muscle and blood,
Or anything that’s inside.
I try to make her like him though,
I know he is no good.
He tells her she’s a naughty girl,
And he tempts her back with food.
But how can I protect her when,
I’m back there scared, in bed.
With Mum close by, Dad drunk at the door
With the strength of “At least 2 men”
But he is her “Big Grandad” now,
He brings treats for her to eat.
And when she knows she’s eaten her fill
She no longer sits at his feet.
How long can it last, this fakery,
With her Daddy determined to fight?
Grandad could bring her a bakery,
But I can feel the end in sight.
I’m sorry, I can’t stand idly by
I won’t be my Mother again,
If Grandad must go, then I’ve got to try,
To have the mental strength of 10!
