Cora Pearl’s strange encounter
Last night came knocking at my door
The oddest thing I ever saw
Three eyes of orange long hair of blue
Nothing like it in Grimney Zoo
Instead of hands it had big hooks
Which did nothing to assist its looks
Short in body big in head
The sight of it filled me with dread
It was so bad I felt quite sure
That I quickly shut and locked the door
It was so grim and smelt so dire
It must have come from Grimney mire
But now I know I will not find out
What that thing was all about
Perhaps one day I will meet another
Although Heaven forbid that it has a brother
