The Land of Grimney - The Illustrated Adventures of Cora Pearl, aged 12

I wrote this for my wonderful wife (and mother to my 2.5 year old daughter) who died of cancer two days before Christmas 2010, aged 36. We included this in the order of service because I would never have been able to read it out on the day.


Roses bathe in her glorious sunshine
Oceans ebb and flow as she breathes
Stars shimmer enviously at her eyes
Sands of time, stand still and admire
Love longs for her company
Yesterday yearns to see her again
Nobody is somebody because of her.

That made me tearful. It is a beautiful though.

Hi, read what you said about your wife. Cannot offer much in the way of comfort, but I think as a community here in Grimney, we do care. Glad you have joined us and as they say, it's like being individual ships at sea, we are all on our own on the rocky ocean, but beneath the waves on the seabed we are all calm and joined as one. Heard that analogy somewhere, always been a favorite, but not sure I quoted it right.

Thanks for your kind words and thoughts. Started to feel more like myself recently, as opposed to some sort of automaton that was programmed to be sad; I wouldn't be posting here otherwise.

I think there are probably many here who would credit Grimney with some definite healing properties. There are tears, pain, love and laughter to be had on these pages and I am very happy to be part of it. Your poem is truly beautiful LegoStan.
