YO'D FETCH THE COAL, IN THE BABBI'S PRAM, GOO DARN THE BUTCHER'S, FER A QTR A SPAM. THE STOVES WAS IN THE BREWHOUSE, UN THE TAP WUS IN THE YARD. THOD'E MON'S SNAPS, A PIECE O' BREAD N' LARD. 

GALVERNISED BATHS, UN DOLLY'S DONE THE WESHIN', KETTLES BOILIN' ON THE HOB, READY T' MEK A MESHIN OD'E IRON BEDSTEAD'S, BRASS KNOB'S UN ALL, BROWN PICTURES O' YA GRANDAD, HUNG ON THE WALL. 

BROWN UN GREEN, WUS THE COLOUR OF THE DAY, ON WUM MED RUGS, THE DOG USED TO LAY, O' REMEMBER THE CUPBOARD, UNDER THE STAIRS, WEAR ME MOTHER PUT ME, IF O' PULLED A FERS'E 

DAMP AS HELL UN AS BLACK AS COAL, A PLANK O' WOOD, WITH A BIG ROUND OLE, THAT WUS THE LAV, AT THE BOTTOM O' THE YARD, BUT YO' DAY GOO OFTEN, IF THE WEATHER WUS HARD. 

not my poem i have had this on my phone for awhile and thought id post it to share some black country poetry. ive forgettin the writers name
