Carados is an enemy of the state, he uses violence instead of diplomacy.

Ancient law in deed and word. We make the law and yes, that was at the beginning of our rule Byron, before the human species gained ultimate authority in this land, we are fortunate that we no longer need to allow our inferiors a place in our council or upon the throne of our kingdom, we must look to a human future and not step back. To allow our throne to be taken by half breeds would cause our people to indulge in terrorism....

Agree. We are the Law, and the Militia would never permit their rule. It would be civil war. The flood gates would open and blood of every species would flow....

But Lord Silas, the law is the law. You are my friend and I support you in many things but some things are eternal. So eternal they are carved in the very marbles of our law courts. Not even the Queen can change them.

There is perhaps a bloodless solution. A legal one. We must find a human heir that has an unblemished claim to the throne and diplomatically persuade the Princess to abdicate in favour of our chosen successor. I doubt she wants the burden of a crown anyway. She is a charming girl, simolu charming but I think she would be happy with a simpoe quiet life with the man she loves.

No one here truly approves of assassination, that I cannot believe. We seek peaceful solutions. War is not the way forward, but Carados and his ambitions are a great cause for concern, we must be very wary Lucia.....

What proof do we have of the Duke's intentions? All I know is we as a Council have mishandled the situation so badly with the Queen that she has turned her back on us and fled to Carados. The people will see that too. The greatest warriors like Eliza Jade and Calaman Kade will strike against us, against our families if they think we endanger the Queen.
*She smiles faintly*
Carados is the heir to the throne, if we declare the Queen is not mentally fot to rule then he will be declared regent, our de facto King. The Duke of Zoltar will seek to purge the High Council and weaken our powers if we are now seen to be openly hostile to him. Keep your friends close, your enemies closer and your future king closer still. He may be persuaded to remarry, declare Philomena illegitimate and produce a human heir.

Carados would see us all slaughtered if we gave him the Crown. He has many grudges and enemies in the High Council. He must never be allowed to rule Grimney. Eleanor must remain as our Queen. Remember that we all command vast armies, and many of us have found our seats on this council due to that fact. Kade and Jade are ferocious warriors, but we have sheer weight of military numbers on our side, unless any of you wish to defect and join forces with Carados?

Of course she must remain Queen, none of us doubt that. I just think waging war on the heir to the throne is pointless. I think Lady Montrose has a point, we do not know the intentions if Carados or his daughter. We should be using spies, not assassins.
