Hello Urat, Philomena. So sorry we took so long hope it did not worry you too much. I had to take eve back home back to Wibbly wood to rest she was exhausted from our adventure, hopefully she will gain enough energy to pop in later, she flew faster than her wings could carry her. We managed to pass on the note to the knight, hidden out of sight we watched him read. But we had to flitt off in a hurry as we heard the deep voices and heavy boots of many men approaching. eve did us proud. A drink for me please Urat.

Urat, I bring you happy news. I have just seen Kalvos, he is returning as we speak. He thanked me for the note and said it arrived just in time. The little fairies have done us proud, I shall see to it that they shall not pay for their drinks tonight. I think you might want to get a bath ready for him, looks like he had a bit of a swim in the mire. :? I offered him a ride on the kelpie but I think he might have been put off by the smouldering hooves. Heat up a radigan pie and maybe a little brandy for him too if Darius has left any. Poor man. I know you are unhappy about him being here but I do think eve was right, his goodness really does shine through.

Ah, I have been hearing reports of what has been happening. Maybe I could have helped.

Philomena, you are always welcome in the waterfall. It is graced by your presence. However, please go easy with the storms, some of my plants are quite tender.

In the light of what has been happening, I must give a warning about the waterfall. The King has proclaimed it a place of peace, and what he proclaims happens.

This does not mean the waterfall is just a pleasant, peaceful place. It has much power. If anyone has darkness of the mind, body, soul, or spirit, it will purge it. The fiercest warrior may become the humblest servant once immersed in it's waters.

Also, it cannot be polluted. Any substance that enters it is purified. Poisons and other noxious substances are neutralized.

That explains why the kelpie is so calm there, it is good to know. I shall remain unchanged, there is no blood on my hands Wayland and I intend to keep it that way. Despite the summoning of storms I am a creature of Love not violence. I can bring a very gentle drizzle of rain if you want your plants softly watered.

Good day one and all! Wayland...Philomena..

You'll have to forgive me if I'm a little quiet it was a very late night for me. I've slept most of the day and was quite off my food for a while, although Xibes soon coaxed me round with some creamy custard tarts that she had resourced in the usual manner.

I hope the young man...Kalvos...is safe. I don't understand what would make him sit alone out in the mire like that. Maybe he has a sad heart?

When he returns I will hide myself in my usual place, it's warm up high and I love the murmers of conversation rising. Philomena I see a drink awaits me, I had never tasted such drink before...but it makes a delightful swooze in my head and my toes tingle! Thanking you!

*eve-naive wipes her eyes wearily and her wings seem to droop ever such a little*

Drinks indeed Xibes, and as requested a round of drinks for the fairies, the delightful Philomena is paying! Gwenllian do stay a little longer, what is the tavern without your company also?

The Waterfall sounds wonderful Wayland, it is sad that so many are content with their cruel natures, and would not change unless forced to do so.

The Knight Kalvos is indeed a strange one. He rode in some hours ago, covered in sludge from the mire, why he would swim in such dangerous water the Zoriat Gods only know... He refused the bath Philomena, it seems he felt that the slime of the mire was good camouflage, he seemed thankful for the care that was given to him from all, including the fairies, he clearly is not against the other races of Grimney as he spoke warmly of you all, although a little quiet when he spoke. He told me that he was nearly ambushed by bandits. The warning came just in time, as there were many, and he concluded that he would have been unable to fight them all off, he appears to know his limits, a born survivor that one!

Kalvos has not been in the bar this night and he does seem quite isolated, and perhaps evenaive you are right, a little sad. As to where he is now I cannot tell you. He was last sighted East of here some hours ago, seated under a tree scribbling into a notepad, he seemed very preoccupied with the stars, gazing skyward, as if looking for something.

Regardless! Drinks all round, as you are fast becoming my favourite patrons! Although I do miss some of my old regulars when they are not about, especially Hogstance and Tanza, regardless of the mess they make and the furniture they damage. Not seen Witch, Elvira and Nydas for a spell either, if you'll pardon the obvious pun! ;)

Do come down from the beams when you’re thirsty evenaive, you’ll be glad to know that Sweeney dusted up there earlier especially for you!
:D

I return from Toraz with a heavy heart. The boy has been slaughtered and the good doctor too. The gold that was given to Darius Kane has their blood on it, do not accept it as it will bring no happiness. There were none to mourn the unknown boy so I went to his funeral to sing a lament. The town of Toraz wept. Murder for money, I cannot understand your race. I hope to the great Gods of Grimney my father is not one of those men who values life so little. I have watched many drown and wished to help. Bound by the laws of my people, unallowed to deny the sea her victim of those not already under our protection I have watched the silent violence of their deaths and did nought but sing laments. On land it seems I can do little more than sing laments too, the blade will find its victim regardless of what I do.
I have some business in the Land of the Red Dragons, it is a long ride to cross into its borders although fortunately the kelpie is fast. I hope to return by the time the suns have set, although it may take a little longer.

I fell asleep up in those beautiful beams again! Thank Sweeney Green dear Urat for they were absolutely spotless. *eve naive looks down at her green wormsilk skirt* See not a cobweb to be seen!

I had an awful dream though, I have to say...Philomena was not swimming in her lake but still and singing with great poignancy a lament...for a boy who's light had gone out.

*An old man looking a little tattered interjects at this point*

What is that dear sir...it is true..the wounded boy was killed?

*a tear trickles down the little fairy's face*

Well then it was so as this kindly patron has let me know. Your talk last night walked through my mind leaving a picture trail! Ah I spy a thimble left there for me, I am sorry that I didn't join you last night but I was so weary - I meant to thank Philomena for her protective song when we flew to warn Kalvos, it steadied my heart...even Xibes' who is almost fearless!

I will just sample a little of this liquid honey then go and sit a while with my friend the wibbly elf before going home to dust my own little Munchkin Manor as Urat's beams have quite put me to shame. Xibes is going to start getting very cross with me if I take to spending my nights in the beams of taverns!...Although there is only one for me!

I am glad that Kalvos returned safely, I might whisper a careful hello next time he joins us in the tavern.

Have a day of joy despite dark times dear ones.

Evening Urat, as I’m not on duty all the time, and very glad to be out of my armour, I’d like a glass of wine. I'm sorry to read about the death of that young man. I always think of mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters, and the pain they must feel at such times. Still I don’t wish to dwell, it won’t bring him back. Evenaive if you are up there, do come down from the beams and sit upon my shoulder, you have no reason to fear me. I’ll buy you and your friends a drink if they should like one.

Certainly Sir, I shall fill two jugs for you to share. I am glad that it was you that stayed and not your colleagues. Did you volunteer for this task? The boy is a tragic loss, but what can be done? Did you find what you were looking for in the mire?
