The 2012 Olympics only got better
Medal after Medal, Gold, Silver and Bronze
Team GB the Glorious Gold getter
Crowds so proud now needing a lozenge

Olympic Athletes determined and strong
Time now for letting their hair down
Celebrations deservedly will last so long
With Team GB receiving 3rd place Golden Crown!

What a great way to show off good old Blighty
The Goldrious showcase in our Big Smoke
Singing to our National Anthem & quite rightly
Bottles of bubbly sprayed to soak

Congratulations to all worldly partakers
Everyone is welcome to Great Britain again
Hope you enjoyed your stay here travel makers
Safe return journey on that plane

Of course, Olympic volunteers, Forces & staff
Deserve to receive a very special mention
For all their hard work, not alf!
A golden medal too for you in celebration!

Now I'm so excited that it will continue
Next with the Paralympic Games
The Gold Fever rush shall renew
With our Chariot firing the Olympic flames!

Like the poem. And GB did do very well. Shame the Spice Girl's had to reform. On those wheels they looked like some hybrid cross dressing daleks and they sounded like them too.

Sorry I'm with Gothika on this one! Closing ceremony was dire! They should have got George Michael to sing with Queen. I thought JJ was cringeworthy! So There!
