The Sud Oren is full and sharp. Just how I like it. Some may prefer it sweeter, but it is exactly to my taste. I give you a tip. Mix it with a little Marginata. It adds sweetness without diluting the flavour. I would certainly buy as much of it as you can. It does sweeten with age.

Marginata? Now I don't know about that, Jeremiah might, but it sounds rather exotic for this tavern, I thought we were being flamboyant when we started serving grimati wine. Sud Oren was only recently added to the menu, and you are the only person that seems to order it. Not that I mind.

Did you see the dark riders that came galloping into Grimney earlier? They were silhouetted by moon shadows, I could not make out their identities, but I really didn't like the look of them at all. I hope they are not planning to visit here.

I've just arrived here, and I'm thirsty. As it's a tavern I would like a drink please. No. I never saw any dark riders, but I don't care about them. I have come here to find Willow. I know that she is missing and I will do anything I have to do to bring her back from wherever she has gone. Can you help me? From talking to others I get the impression it's something to do with the Chaos Engine, in fact I'm sick of hearing about them. So what can you tell me? I know I sound rude, but I was her friend and I miss her. Where is she? Please, I need to know...

Easy son. Now, I don't know who you are, but I can see you're upset. Obviously you've good reason. Willow, yes, well, she had a run in the other day with two gents, Tanza was involved too, but you probably don't know her. I know that Darius Kane was a witness to the kidnap, but other than that I know very little, I'm so sorry. Would you like a drink to calm your nerves? :|

I just said I'd like a drink didn't I? :x Sorry, that was rude, erm, please, just a glass of lipseed, thank you. It's hard to explain how I feel. She's gone and I want her back. If you see anyone from the Chaos Engine tell them that Josh Zevin is looking for them, I know they won't quake in their boots, but if they've harmed her, then I'm out for blood and I'll issue a challenge, and kill them all if I have to do it. Thanks for the drink, I'll be waiting.

Wait a moment! Do think about what you are saying! The Grimney police are looking sir! Oh he's gone. Oh, so young. It can only lead to further tragedy. So sad...

That young man left in a hurry. Such a shame, I would have joined him for a drink.

Rangers? So that is the reason the Nixies are being so quiet? In times past whole forests would dance to their river song and now they are in hiding, cowering and resentful against humans. I do not like it. Grimney needs strength from all it's creatures, if the whispers are to be believed. Not the Vorgrannor, they do not live for war but something else, something more distant, unnamed. They watch and wait like a bloated spider on it's web and now those dark riders are here. Oh dear. It makes me uneasy to speak of such things.

A drink is needed I think, and talk of other things. Why have you not come to visit us at Grimney lake yet? I suppose you have been kept busy keeping the privy so clean. ;)

That poor boy needs to take care, brave he maybe, but the graveyard is full of forgotten bravery. Still, we all have a path to follow I suppose, but his path cannot be taken safely. I can’t help him.

Raiders, rangers call them what you like, but we all know them for what they truly are, fortunately they never visit the tavern. It's a sad fact that race hatred is such an issue in Grimney, I suppose it is a grim aspect of human nature to destroy what we don’t understand. Although I was never one for philosophy Philomena, I don't judge by race, creed or colour. I don’t like the raiders either, but we're lucky that no one in authority cares much for the tavern in the swamp, but if I was running a bar in Gollema I’d be shut down due to my patrons.

The Vorgrannor, the legendary ice giants, harmless and isolated, but very powerful, again I only know what I’ve heard, that’s why stories and poems matter so much, thoughtful words broaden my mind.

What drink would you like? A visit to Grimney lake? That would be a pleasure, I run the bar alone since the death of my wife, and I have no offspring to speak of, so I am often very busy. The clean privy! Oh yes, seat down and sparkling, I can thank Sweeney Green for that! :)

A glass of wine, my friend. Unless you have something that can dull the longing for home.

A brave, poor boy, he seemed upset about the girl Willow. Will she be found? Maybe it is best to offer to pay the ones who took her. Surely between all your patrons we could raise her ransom? I would be happy to offer my blue Dudrassa pearl earrings as part of the ransom.

I think you are a wise man Urat, the wisest I know. This tavern is a beacon in this land, I hope it will stay this way.

How to dull the longing of home?... Not to be done surely? You would not want to forget it’s value, the more you long for it, the more you really know how much it matters. No, enjoy that painful longing. I long to see my home again, but the mire is a safe place to be, if you can avoid the Warty Toad that is.

Willow, a popular girl, I think she was a water elf, I was never sure, I think she came from that other place.... Cora was the first to arrive amongst us and much time has gone since she drowned. Then Tanza arrived, followed by Nydas and Elvira and then the others. We’ve had a lot of far away people in the tavern of late. You can tell they are different as they bring words and knowledge that we don’t always understand.

I’m not a wise man... But I thank you for suggesting so. No, the men like me are driven to the mire, we are best forgotten, but being forgotten, it allows us so much freedom Philomena.

We do not truly know who has Willow, the other patrons seem to have turned their backs upon her, it is a kind and caring thing to suggest, to raise a ransom, you truly are a noble soul. Your pearl earings? :o That is a grand gesture. Perhaps you might be able to save us from bloodshed after all? Should I take them? It seems that a mermaid may have better understanding of human nature than humans themselves. Assuming it was Kestrig’s gang that took her.
