I have my eyes
Yet I don’t see
I do not know
If this is me
I dance upon
The stage at night
I dance for men
For their delight
My mother scolds
My father shouts
Their daughter
Is so full of doubts
They loved me once
Before I grew
They loved the child
That they once knew
But now they simply look away
They have no further words to say
Others look their eyes are wide
But I’ve lost their love
Their love has died.

As a child
I often dreamed
But the world was not
As it always seemed
Days out and joyous picnics too
Innocence was all I knew
I played beside the tumbling stream
Ate strawberries, chocolate and icecream
My mother always stroked my hair
I thought that she would always care
My father was my guiding light
He chased the monsters
who hid at night
In my room beneath the bed
He loved me once
but he never said
Silence, darkness,
Replaced that world
Child abuse
And insults hurled
Drove me out when I grew older
With doubt and fear uopn each shoulder
I wait, I think
What lies ahead?
But the past is gone
Those dreams are dead.

Here's a cheerful piece which fits the title I think. Written last week, not sure if it's a song or a poem yet, will see if music comes.

Pointless

There’s a dark space
Festers in the midst
Whispers quiet messages of doubt
In the dark space
Happiness is nowhere
Confidence and valour stay way out

There’s a deep pool
Lurking in the mind
Stagnant water running out of time
In the deep pool
Lies the death of hope
A place where rays of sun refuse to shine

Whirling darkness
Threatens all the time
Pulling down towards the gaping void
So attractive
When the road is tough
Its promises of peace, deceit deployed

Pointless, pointless
There isn’t any meaning to the life
Pointless, pointless
Endless worry, torment, toil and strife.

There’s a demon
Lives behind the eyes
Lets you think that all is going well
Then when you least expect it
The trump card sends you
Spiralling to hell

ok, it's a song! As I was typing it up a hairy bluesman was watching over my shoulder and playing the same riff over and over inspired by the words he saw. Now we have finished the basics of what will eventually be a folk rock song. Cool! :D

That is very downbeat, but suits my general mood. Nydas that is really brilliant, it has a beat, and I can see a song in there. Makes me look a bit of an amateur, but that is what I am! ;)
