Be it in the
Wind soughing in the high branches
Campion resting in the hedgerow
shade
Or the lone gull
Wheeling on untouchable thermals
Created by
Butterflies lifting the air.

Be it in the
Brindle cow listening to the world
Through deeppooled eyes
Or the unuttered roar of love
Changing lives
Driven by the whisper of hope
Leading on life.

But maybe, just maybe
It lives in the young man’s smile
Or the bright girl’s faith
Or the young child’s searching arms
Speaking of joy in the awakening dream
A joy in all that is, seen
and unseen.
