They say a soul can never wain
They say a life cannot be be bought

That life and love can bring such pain
And using them cannot be taught

A single shadow walks beside us
Traces every waking breath

Never shows just what's inside us
Only vanquished by our death

So lay my hat right here beside me
Question not my right to stay

For feelings that have grown inside me
Brought me home I'm here to stay.
