I am at a loss with this piece that I have been working on for a few weeks, but have hit a brick wall for the last line.
Am wondering if it might be better to scrap the whole last verse?

It was Steve Brookstein, an averagely talented, white, pub circuit soul singer. I know because I was there. Why was I there? My lovely late wife was a production accountant on the show so I had a free ticket. I was cheering for G4, not because I liked them but because they weren't Steve Brookstein.
