If only life could always be The way it was when we were three No cares, no worries, no regret No scars from wounds that haven't yet Occurred. No shattered dreams... ...Just rainbows, butterflies, sunbeams Bubblewrap, huge cardboard boxes, Lazy dogs and quick brown foxes, Favourite toys and hiding places, Making mess and pulling faces, Wax crayons, scribbling on the walls, A phone with wheels, no charge for calls... I look at her now that she's three So innocent, pure, carefree I wish her mum was here to see Her little girl - how proud she'd be. |
