The wind sighs through the trees As the forest mourns the passing of summer Leaves fall, like tears, Gathering in pools of brown and red. Angry branches rage at the storm Shaking and hissing at the sky Raindrops drive down like bullets Rending and tearing through. Peace comes with a milky cloak Rising and engulfing all The air is still. Very still Until the wind breathes once more. |
