Molten sunrise creeps over porcelain,
Rising, malodourous coagulate.
Etiolate washes down albumen,
Sulphur chasing CO2 precipitate.
Homeostasis hangs in the balance
Fields of alveoli gasping for breath.
Haunted by nystagmus, eyes fixed in trance.
Fingers snatching at the corners of death.
Entangled dendrites squander wits and guile.
Nephrons asphyxiating in the dust.
Active gall bladder haemorrhaging bile,
In shadows of vomit and self-disgust.
One night of fun and now you're moribund.
Water is your drink of choice from now on.

Human physiology and hangovers! Now that is a poem that speaks to me!

Lol! I love to use medical terminology etc. It probably isolates some of my poetry from people. ;)

Thank you for your welcome. I'm trying to win back my liver's friendship at the moment, with promises of healthy eating, exercise and staying on the wagon.

You're making me want to write a poem about oxidative phosphorylation!

This poem is me today. Hangovers and toddlers do not mix.
