Sometimes things come back like a memory blast, memories locked, consigned to the past, A song, a picture, a thought of a day, A face you remember, a time gone away.
Sat on a beach with my dad in the sun, My brother is with me, boy did we have some fun, A car that was dying made sure we got there, It was soon put down but it went with a prayer.
Walking in the rain and nobody spoke, Until dad came out with his usual joke, "We'll soon be brown", I thought "won't we just" Oh damn, silly me, he meant from the rust.
But time has a price and these days come to an end, So take a second to look at your friend, To take a step back for a moment and say, I will cherish your love to my dying day.
