1.
Sometimes, a poem catches
The mood and flies
Heartwards, there to lodge a while.
The verse then snatches
At half-forgotten joys;
A remembrance of your smile.

Suddenly, your long absence pains.
Then you and rhymes
Share space, snug in that beating place.
While to the mind remains
An image formed from
Two: the poem and your face.

2.
The Poetry Filter

Push prose through a heart
That’s bleeding, and the words
are stained: they change their
Effect, if not their meaning.
They formerly spoke to reason;
Now to emotion they are leaning.
The words thus heart-filtered,
The wound they help to seal.
Heart jolts heart again to start;
Renewed; fresh joys to feel.

Thank you evenaive. As the writer, you never quite know how it will be for the reader, so it's good to hear. Thanks again. :)
