Life begins at forty
Or so they like to say
But we all know that's nonsense
In every single way

When you turn forty
Life doesn't alter
You just keep on going
Trying not to faulter

Once you are forty
Things may seem worse
As you look down at
Your life's empty purse

When you hit forty
Please don't despair
Just you remember
You're almost halfway there
