I lived in a world
of darkness and pain
no relief from this misery

The black dog of hate
came less to my window,

the sun still shone
the sky was still blue
I rebuilt my life

I still hear him howl
In the dead of the night
But he stays in his kennel,
I stay in the light

take heart, keep the faith
you can climb from the Abyss.
