Being an executive assistant and having access to the innermost secrets resting undisturbed on the boss's computer can yield some fascinating information. Here is another poem written in 1998 by my friend and boss Steven J. Mittler. It seems even more appropriate today with all of the affiliate marketing happening around the internet.
MLM (Many Losers Mislead)
Con men tempt us with greedy dreams, Entice us with their get rich schemes.
Trading programs and bank debentures, Risky real estate business ventures.
Stapling this and stuffing that, Placing ads is where it’s at.
To avoid all the legal hype, Pyramid scams of a new type.
To call it pyramid is not the thing, For now it’s multi-level marketing.
Or the downline hydra’s other head, Hailed as network marketing instead.
“They’ve been in business all these years,” Say the con men to calm your fears.
Shoot back at the hustler straight and level, “I have heard the same about the devil.”
Be wary of what the con men say, Instead the lottery you might play.
You might not have any better luck, But at least you’re only out a buck.
