Reaching out
From this dark drain
Watching the feet
of those walking by
Going home
To their comfy seat
Whilst I
Hold on tight
to the metal
So I don't drown
In the dirty water below
I can't sleep
I won't settle
I must only look up
& never down
Avoiding the nettle
To reach that crown
