Friends old. Friends new, However you look at it Friends are few Be loyal Be true and cherish those friends whatever you do when days are dark when life looks grim open your heart and let those friends in charge your glass raise it high drink to true friendship between you and I |

There is truth in your words. A true friend is like a true vintage wine- to be treasured, savoured and enjoyed. |

Heart warming, Unfortunately have not yet found a true friend, too much of a loner maybe, or too fussy!! |

Friends are our true riches. I spend some time with homeless people. As a matter of fact, I will not be around for a while next week, as I will be on the streets of London. I have met people with no home, no money, but with friends they can count on. I have met people with plenty of money, but who are suspicious of those they call friends. My poem This Is The Life is based on some people I met. |

I don't do anything worthy of admiration. These people make my life richer. I may not have much, but I have all I need. They have a lifestyle I may not be able to cope with, and they may not be able to cope with a lifestyle like mine. Yes, there are plenty of homeless people with problems like drink and drugs. Yes, there are violent people, dangerous people. I have no rosy view of those I meet. Every one of them has their story. Every one of them is a human being, with the needs of a human being. Every one of them deserve friendship. I learn a great deal by listening to them. And, if it helps them to talk to me, all the better. The gang and I take plenty of food and hot drink, and we meet and talk to people into the small hours of the morning. Saturday week I will be in Trafalgar Square with over a thousand people, many of whom I know I can count on. |

I am lucky to have so many true friends, they all have their flaws but then so do I. My best friend is my husband. |

P.s. I have to echo Gwenllian in my admiration for you Wayland. So many homeless people become invisible or subhuman in people's eyes. I'm glad to know that there are people out there who truly care about others. |
