I discovered this poem for the first time today and it is so beautiful, I just had to share it with you. Isn't it wonderful? I wish I could write half so well!

Opal by Amy Lowell

You are ice and fire,
The touch of you burns my hands like snow.
You are cold and flame.
You are the crimson of amaryllis,
The silver of moon-touched magnolias.
When I am with you,
My heart is a frozen pond
Gleaming with agitated torches

'Tis Bootiful Philomena,

an opal is like a sun trapped inside a moon
:D
