Revealing beneath silk
Beautiful eyes I can see
The unveiling
Of mirrored beauty within me
A twinkle, a wry smile
Beaming into my heart
Where no more love can pile
A bursting of timeless art
But a shadow lingers over
Our history's longest tale
Etched shame is woven
Into my mother's wedding veil
Her failed arranged marriage
Having left that oppressive jail
Meant I escaped such tragic end
Pure happiness awaits now
In true love's blend.
