My past has just come flooding back
with the music of that time
when I was Meryl the folk singer
and a wonderful world was mine

I wasn't a mother
a wife or a lover
and the world was as sweet as wine

I was the girl with the long brown hair
smile on face, guitar in hand
the notes flowed out of my open mouth
lost in a wonderful land

I raised my voice
I had no choice
nothing was ever planned

but all this was many years ago
In another place and time
when I was another person
but oh my word it was fine

now my voice is a croak
a bit of a joke
oh well ,pass the bottle of wine!!

Were you really a folk singer? Grimney has three of them if that is the case. I like the poem, it was sad but reaching for the wine helps. :)

Funny how certain memories from the past always seem better thinking back but I hope many things will be more improved as we mature. Then again it depends on the past.
