DIVADSUBLICATION

I measured my life by its length and its breadth
To see just how far I had come
But the answer kept leaping all over the place
And I couldn't work out the sum

It seemed utter nonsense to have no result
So determined, I stayed up all night
I repeated for hours the multiplication
But none of the numbers looked right

I looked in the mirror and there was the key
It was staring me right in the face
A few little lines of divadsublication
Would solve it, with me as the base

I sat with a smile as I wrote down the words
That I knew would determine my fate
I went over them twice and then three times and four
And the answer was finally straight

It didn't take long to add up all my luck
With my happiness, credits and love
I subtracted the woes and the fears I recalled
Drew a line with the total above

Under that I wrote down my euphoria
And divided it up with dismay
Then multiplied that by the feeling of hope
That my heart kept alive every day

I'm glad I eventually worked it all out
But I wish I had known from the start
That my answer will never be wrong, only right
As long as there's hope in my heart

Excellent poem Tanza, hope it sometimes elusive but your poem is there in black and white to remind us all.
