The Forest Fire
"There is a fire in the forest" Blankets of flame wrap around the branches Trees of green burn like torches between the river of dancing crimson colour A stag stands upon his hind legs Ears pricked back Eyes wide and staring Behind him the grim clouds of smoke Shroud and cloak the landscape The glaring flames cascade Bearing down upon the beast As the feasting fire Swallows all beneath its wall of flame "There is a fire in the forest" Fleeing through a cloak of yellow haze A maze of crackling vegetation Burning all around Branches tumble to the ground Seeing no way out No exit from the dark Animals turn upon their heels A spark of rolling Churning fire Lights another fertile tower The timid creatures cower As fire seals them trapped inside A dozen giant oak Are wrapped in swirling smoke For the trees they cannot hide As their branches stoke the flame "There is a fire in the forest" That stems from human shame A monstrous din of hoof beats rumble As each frightened beast Blindy tumbles and retreats Into the choking air Unaware that there can be no escape From this lair of flame The shapeless mass of black and red Belches higher and higher Whirls its ghostly web around them Whilst the forest's life does ebb away And the smoke curls and sways into the heavens Tears boil in burning eyes In dying breath the Stag he cries "There was a fire in our forest Where no woodland beast remembers What stood before these dying embers No spark of life does dwell here Because of human strife No creature lives to shed a tear" Now the beast he dies But does he live in human eyes?

The Cage
In bloodied hand he grips the seed Lying dead on drowning shore Lost his life through violent deed Taken here in blood drenched war
Nothing moves the corpse alone Flowing red from fatal wound Skin so cold and white as bone Final posture he has assumed
Grim he stands and reaps them in Boney hands upon his scythe at Heaven's Gate war is a sin Best not fight and stay alive
Darkness swirls around his soul His light filled form begins to black The Devil smiles when he counts the toll Above the ground begins to chat
A formless element he falls beneath Into fires that burn with rage Back in the world they lay a wreath Whilst below the torment of the Cage...

Dreams
Dreams are the stairway to Heaven From the Earth to the Sky Rainbows form like arrows To guide us high above Where the stars will shine For mine are the pinheads of light That seem so far until you reach them Then you see how bright they are When you break free So let all the world see That hopes and dreams Are not so far away And can be unfurled Twilight nights that close the day Need never last forever Pass dull pain into shadow Sow the seed of love in your souls Find the need to chase your goals But dispel the greed For greed is a vexation of the spirit I have watched the seasons change Seen the snow upon the ground Strange to think that in all this beauty Peace cannot be found For only in fantasy Have I danced upon a frozen stream Watched snow flurries fall in winter time Where dreams can be glanced in natural mystery I have glided across the ice Seen saphire eyes stare From canopies of green Serene in their majesty Fur coated and four legged Curious characters of the winter season Who offer a reason why this world must live Whisper into the knowing wind Begin to feel the world has more to give Offer to her dignity every reason Why we should live Never stop the quest For those dreams that seem out of reach As we must teach the world That what we all request is love To feel the skies are always blue above And flowers can grow Through cracks in snow Where a child can take the hand of a stranger Who would always guide that child from danger A land where all mankind is a brother Nobody forsakes one another Where creed and colour unites and fights against the squalor Of prejudice and fear Where black and white Will stop the fight and end the fear Where a tear of a child Would be cleansed by any creed Sow the seed Do not let the weeds that grow around us Choke us Or drag us down into the soil Where the weeds that grow around us Slowly coil around our bodies Like twisted vine Where they will hold us still Confine forever more In violent acts and wretched war

Mistress of the Sea
Mistress of the deep blue sea You take my hand and on you guide me Through the swirling waves Where Davy Jones has laid our graves
A lover of the foaming ocean Cascading waves break with emotion On the shores that lead to land Across the pebbles amongst the sand
Crabs and shrimps they scuttle there Hearts and minds so free from care Amongst the rocks in crystal pools Where breaking waves form waterfalls
I sat alone upon the beach Watched seagulls flying out of reach Soaring silent through the sky They will claim my soul on the day I die
An old ivory pipe between my teeth I've sailed the oceans, the Great Barrier reef I've kissed the corals beneath the waves And in the depths with my Mistress I'll lay my grave
Over the distant thunder of the roaring tide I have called to my Mistress deep inside Where she glided below in the glittering surf A watery spirit not born on this earth
In my dreams I see a beach Upon an island out of reach Where human kind has never been Tranquil, sandswept so serene
I hope oneday to sail my boat To this island so remote And live in peace on golden shore Today, tomorrow and forever more...

My Lady
My lady's hair is thick and black It's mostly growing on her back Her teeth are yellow with a hint of green Her toes are webbed with skin between She smells of cabbage and rotten egg Has knobbly knees upon each leg Her eyes are blue and they protrude She's always staring not that she's rude Her nose is large the nostrils flared Children hide because they're scared She is my angel for all her flaws But it's best she always stays indoors.

Wacky Nursery Rhymes!
Nursery Confusion
Mary, Mary quite contrary In her garden spent hours and hours But a flock of lost sheep Owned by little Bo Peep Broke in and ate all her flowers
Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep Where they are she hasn't a clue But Old Mother Hubbard Has a very full cupboard And her doggie is full of lamb stew!
Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep! To find them she's called in the cops But sly Mother Hubbard Has put locks on her cupboard Cos it's filled to the brim with lamb chops!
Who is the Egghead?
Little Jack Horner Sat in a corner Whilst Humpty Dumpty Sat on a wall When Humpty fell down Jack said with a frown 'I'm glad I kept to my stool!'
Sink or swim?
Mary had a little lamb She called it Tiger Tim She threw it in the sea one day To see if it could swim That little lamb splashed all about Not knowing what to do For when it comes to swimming Lambs haven't got a clue And so it sank beneath the waves Which closed above its head And Mary then realised Her little lamb was dead The moral of this story Is not hard to understand If you have a little lamb Please keep it on dry land!

The Gay Man
I went for a stroll along the beach one day And met a man who was extremely gay He was happy so cheerful and constantly smiling His jolly demeanour was quite beguiling He asked me to dance and I gave him my hand We tangoed and waltzed all over the sand The lobsters they blushed and the crabs scuttled by The seagulls were shocked and started to cry We danced through the night beneath the moon overhead By three in the morning he was ready for bed We ended our dance and he said his farewell But was he a gay man? I just could not tell…

Toby tortoise comes out of his shell
It was a very hot day Where the tortoise lay Sunning himself by the river Toby removed his shell As the sun made him swell And the wind made him all of a quiver Toby sat by the stream His flesh all a gleam And a passing seagull was sick With Toby's bits on display The bird flew away But the tortoise was pleased with his trick! Toby stood on his toes And raised up his nose And announced he could run very fast Toby started to charge This meant by and large That all other creatures came last!

The Old Lady
In the cafe alone amongst the crowd Hands clasped around a coffee cup The old lady sits and dreams Her face immersed in rising steam Lost in the mist of time Where the old lady remembers A lover she once kissed But time has withered many memories Past years have cast their shadow For Death is waiting at the door The old lady sips her coffee gently Feels the liquid warmth inside But dying is not death As love remains beyond all pain And birth and death upon this Earth Is but the turning of a wheel Constant in motion But always repeated.
