I reads it that there have been 1542 people visit Grimney in April. And about 10 of them (me being one, obviously!) have commented. Is everyone else reaaalllllyyyyy shy d'you think? :D

Good question Elvira. You obviously love lists of numbers! I shall try to give a wise answer if I can. I am not that much of a expert, but here goes. Unique visitors are new arrivals, when they visit they are counted and registered just once and never again. Number of visits represents people returning, every time someone visits it is regsitered here. Does that help at all? Yes, there are a lot of visitors and they obviously just read and depart. I guess they are shy! :?

I am amused. Yes. Time travellers visiting Grimney appeals to me. Maybe a story in that somewhere. Zero bank balance shows a deep meaningful commitment to art. Surely a good thing!

You do realize Gavin, that by allowing everyone to add their work, you will eventually bury your own. Statistics look quite good. :mrgreen:

Hello Lucky Joe, that is a stylish avatar you have. I think I do understand your comment, however, I look at it this way. If this was Grimney library and the only books it had were my own, it would soon become a very dull place to visit. Also I like the fact that I now have plenty to read, and a reason to pop back to visit. In the past I rarely bothered, but now I do. The Land of Grimney could simply have just been a closed world, but this is so much better. If my work becomes buried, it will be buried alongside a few other little treasures. That is fine by me, Grimney is not about one person's creative journey, it's about everyone who gets involved, and it makes me happy and teaches me something new whenever a story or poem is posted. :D

Totally cool response there Gavin, you're right about only having one dish on the menu, it can become overwhelming, but it was your great work that brought us here in the first place!

There is also the flip side that there may be some dodgy work there that helps yours look even better! I would include my stories in that, not being a story teller they are not my forte and I rarely get a great one out. I hope they serve to enhance your work! :)

Thank you Nydas, I gave my answer some thought, Lucky Joe always provokes a response, he normally mails me directly! (If he is a male) I do think my work gains more substance when it is part of something larger, the forum and stories section have had several thousand more visits this month, and that is due to those who have added work and chatted, this is good for all. I have looked at lots of poetry, music, stories etc and there clearly is really great talent lurking in Grimney, I honestly think that. You have had a positive response from what I have seen too! However, I will not single out names as it would not be right to do so, but it is clear to me, that given the chance Grimney can do exactly as was planned and showcase new talented individuals. This it is trying to do, and my plans are to develop Grimney to give members a bigger home for their work, but that will come in time. Thanks again Nydas, and to you Lucky Joe, I'm sure you have my best interests at heart! ;)

I like this forum and I like this site. Gavin is the leader and we are his followers. We all bow to him. That's how it is. If he was an egotistical maniac, we wouldn't be here. Then, he'd have no friends.

It's amazing to see the stats. I can't always get to my pc to type properly...so sorry for being slack of late. I do have my tab for traveling about, but...as much as I like swype, it doesn't allow the brain-to-fingertip connection that a proper keyboard affords.

The weather is lush.
