I started this topic because there are some good pieces in the Grimney Stories section, and being the kind of Grimnian I am I want to share and ask other Grimnians to share their thoughts on the Stories they read.

The story I've just read ERASMUS - FIX ME is a fine example. I love that when I'd finished reading it all I could see were sharp, red things. I felt sadness and betrayal and loneliness and rage. So much so that I'm off to brew up an unsolicited vengance potion for Erasmus. :evil: My pick of the day :D

I'm really enjoying the serial stories currently

Elvira - Anna Goes to Grimney and Grimnian - Bitter is the salt

They've both got me hooked, I get very impatient for the next installment!

I really like your Alphabet poem Nydas, I too have been reading Anna Goes to Grimney, I really like it. B I T S is good too. I like the contrast between the two, one is very dark, not sure how the Anna story will go yet, I am entertained though thanks. Also read some of Baggage's short stories, and waiting for more. I am so trying to add a bit to the writing Challenge but my brain does not seem to find anything very imaginative in there. I have to mention Tanza, I really like reading her forum comments, and her poems, they make me laugh and make me think. :)

Hi all. I am an old member welcoming the new. Hello Elvira, I thought I would share a thought or two, as you asked a question. I am enjoying the two stories that are being written weekly. Read the Gwump years ago, liked the Crying Tree, Wolf Skin, and there is a story about a woman who meets an angel that she finds attractive I read about a week ago, I liked that, a New Start, I think it was called, could check but I'm lazy. Prefer the stories and poems that creep me out. Inheritance is really beguiling. Coma poem struck a chord. I have only just come back on and the stories list is a lot bigger, and I've only clicked on the ones I mentioned. Going to read the rest over the next few weeks or so.

Hi Gothika, glad to hear from you, it's good for us newer Grimnians to hear from established members. I agree about the Crying Tree, shivers. Much more reading to do for me too. Love your avatar by the way...

Thanks Gothika, no need to check your memory serves you well, it is called A New Start, it was a bit of rebellion to Woman's Weekly type mags. I felt quite optimistic about it at the beginning but none of the mags I sent it to wanted it. Most regular periodicals don't seem to like death in their stories and I don't appear to be very good and writing stories without death in there somewhere! :?

There is a wealth of writing to read here, never a dull moment to be had in Grimney!

Oh, thanks for the compliment about my picture, hmmmm, I was about the only one with a picture some years back. Seems everyone has one now, I'm pretty impressed by yours. I noticed that it says you joined before me. Pretty certain you didn't. Strange. I shall be making regular visits again as the place is flourishing. Just hope it lasts. Crying Tree is disturbing, but appeals to my gothic feminist nature. :lol:

I hate Woman's Weekly type mags and all that glossy brain dead garbage. They wouldn't want your writing the kind of stories you write as it goes against the grain of their woolly minded rose tinted conservative view of the world. I like the fact that the writers here are kicking out at blandness and are writing what the hell they like. I enjoy rebellion, and if I ever wrote anything that was accepted by Woman's Weekly I'd quit writing altogether.

Hi SharonH,

I've just finished reading your two tales and they are tingly good.

Wolf skin made my arms itch, and my neck, and my forehead strangely enough. And the ending made me go 'hmmm'. :) Yuck and wow at the same time!

Sliver made me go 'wwooooooooww' in a shuddering, grave dancing kind of way.
