After a discussion with Kara, and other Admin, it has been decided that Grimney needs to build. This will be an expansion for the benefit of Grimney citizens. So, we decided that you should add your voices and suggest ways in which this can be done. Any thoughts on how we can improve and make it more homely and appealing to you?

Hi Gavin,

That's excellent news. I've had a go at some thinking. I'm not sure I like it.
Still, here goes.

Organise the forums a bit more, I know we currently have the Holmes Tavern and The Poetry Posts but it's all a little bit random.

For example:
Have one area of the forum for all poem threads and responses
Have one area of the forum for odds and sods
Have one area of the forum for Grimney related threads
Have one area of the forum for plans to take over the world.... you get the idea.

Integrate the Members area with the forums a bit more. Allow Grimnians to comment (maybe make the comments moderated though?) on the stories submitted.

As Waycyber says, start a picture gallery.

Fix the members area so members can post their own work.

Maybe have a ' I can do this, does anybody want some, and I want some of that, has anybody got any?' section?

Have a notice board for short info posts, e.g. just posted update to story X, check out the poem called x by x, best film this week is x. And make the life of the notice short too, say a week before it's removed..

A what's on section - we could run our own on-line events?

An area for posting music, running on line gigs, collaborative works

Maybe re-jig the Land of Grimney a little bit, Have the 'about Gavin section' as an proper intro and make it look like a book/Atlas with pages with thumbnails of all the Races and Place of Grimney so easier to see and move between (I bow to your greater judgement here Big G) And room for additional material from you as and when you see fit.

Have a Gallery in the Land of Grimney for all the pictures, and links in the pictures that take you to the relevant section in the Races and Places.

THE WORLD IS OURS!!!!!!!!
Oops, sorry, nearly cackled then.

Any more ideas, let me know :D

I am with the others Gavin. I was thinking Grimney should be more interactive, more roll play would be fun. It would also be good if Grimnians :) As Elvira called us, that we could perhaps have our own little homes, where we could store poems and pictures etc, others could visit. Hmm. Something like that anyway. I'm rubbish at this kind of thing

Great ideas I applaud them all and support them all. Elvira I'd have needed a lie down after thinking all that lot, most impressive!
I have nothing useful to add but particularly support the following (pinched from Elvira's post)

Very exciting!

I hope Grimney doesn't change too much. What sets it apart from other, better known, community websites...is what has drawn a lot of us here in the first place...and keeps us here.

I also hope that control-freak moderators from other, well-established, forums will not feel they are automatically entitled to be given authority here too...bringing their entourages along with them. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh...once bitten, twice shy and all that.

If Grimney has to grow, it should come from within. At the moment, I feel it is being pushed inwards and reshaped into something it wasn't intended to be. Grimney cannot, and should not, be seen as an optional destination when visiting the forum. The forum should be seen as the option...however you decide to restructure it.

You have been presented with a lot of good ideas...ones which would definitely enhance the whole experience, but please think very hard about how you put them into action. Please remember that we are all here because of Grimney and because of YOU. Please remember...we're already happy here.

I look forward to seeing the beautiful Land of Grimney grow and evolve into whatever your incredible mind has planned for it.

I like the ideas, but you could simply set up a forum for photographs anyway, as Gothicka has done with the paintings. Role play? That is there if you look for it, there are many Grimney characters that inhabit the land, some good, some bad, if you wish to find them that is. The ideas will be considered, we would like more though. If you can think of more. Thank you so far everyone! :D

I love Grimney the way it is. I've deleted my twitter account and simply moved here. This website has so much character. I do like the idea of having our own spaces though, that would be nice, picture sharing, good idea. Like that. The Poetry Vault is really flourishing! :)

You'll see where it takes you. Tanza is right. I remember the past, how Draygon the Scar and Seth Kestrig were treated. Grimwood Scribes waits, and in time his nefarious schemes will be exposed. I know who is seeking change here, it is the nature of that beast who walks amongst you. He would exile, delete and control all if given the opportunity, I risk exile just by saying this. Be wary. He is not alone in his plans. Grimney's leadership is divided.

Plenty of excellent suggestions but I will reserve 'judgement' for when the expansion is in place, as it already seems to have been decided.
