You can't go down this tunnel, it's full of sink holes, they're deep, you fall in one of them you'll be swept out to sea. I'd lend you a lantern, but how do I know what you're really up to? You could be planning to steal my diamonds. You like clams do you? I've not seen one, but I've got some fish soup, that's got clam in it, if that's what you're hungry for. |

Sink holes you say? I was told that Morton fell in a sink hole. Please sir, lend me a lantern, I promise I'm not after your diamonds. My Morton can conjure up all the diamonds I want. He's a wizard you see but at the moment he appears as a clam....Don't ask, it's a long story. Please...the lantern...time is running out..... |

This is my tunnel, and I'm mining it. Why should I trust you? I need my lantern to see the walls. If this Morton's a powerful wizard how come he fell down a sink hole? If he did, he'll have either got wedged in the rock, or carried out to sea. Strong swimmer are you? |

(Sigh!) Look! I haven't got time to stand here arguing with you, Morton needs me! See this diamond ring on my finger? I will give it to you in exchange for the lantern. THAT'S how much I care about diamonds! I only care about finding Morton. If I don't find him the best thing that could happen would be to be taken by the sea. PLEASE SIR GIVE ME THE LANTERN!! |

I don't take too kindly to raised voices. You think because I'm short you can push me around? If I give you my lantern how will I find my way to the exit? I'm not stupid. If you want to start wandering around in the dark you should come better prepared lass. |

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shout at you but can't you see I'm at my wits end? I will go back to the entrance with you then I will go back and find Morton. You wait there for me and I will give you the lantern back. Oh PLEASE sir, you don't know what this means to me! I just KNOW that Morton is in here, I can feel it in my broken bones. I have absconded from Toraz hospital to find him. I couldn't stand to lie there knowing my Morton is lying injured or......I don't even want to think about anything else. We are not far from the entrance as you know, it only took me a few minutes to get this far. I don't know whether you know my friend Philomena but..........I'm sure she will reward you well if you let me borrow your lantern.....if my ring is not enough. |

I'm not going to let you go off on your own, you could be trying to trick me, after all, you must like diamonds, judging by that ring. If you know about this part of the mine, and the diamonds in the walls, you might be thinking ahead, this part of the mine is worth more than a single ring... Kill me and stake your claim, that's what happened to poor Emrick, someone did for him. I think you should go back hospital, you stay here you'll get another injury more than likely. I don't know anyone called Philomena. All I can suggest lass is that we search for him together, if you go off on your own you'll die, and I'll lose my lantern. So I'll spare some time if that helps you. |
